Web special from PRH honoured as „Best of Show“
At the internationally renowned iNova Awards in New York, PRH outclassed its many competitors: The agency's Web special for the new Actros from Mercedes-Benz Trucks received the distinction “Best of Show”. Previously, the project won gold in the category “Microsite” and was also honoured with a Grand Award.
The jury was favourably impressed with the Web special's lavish visuals and its extraordinarily fast loading times. The simple and intuitive navigation and the “concise and convincing” content also won great praise from the experts. The iNova Awards were founded in 2001 with the purpose of recognizing excellence in the “World's Best Corporate Websites”. This year, several hundred projects from twelve different countries were submitted.
The award-winning Web special was designed by PRH Hamburg Kommunikation and mensemedia to coincide with the launch of the new Actros, Mercedes-Benz' new long-distance truck. The Microsite is part of a Europe-wide campaign that was broadcast in 19 European countries and in 25 languages. The vehicle's existence was hidden under a veil of secrecy up until eight weeks before the market launch. During the teaser phase that began on May 1st 2011, information on the new Actros was only divulged little by little and in well-defined stages. Each week, new video and audio clips were released – without the new Actros ever being shown in its entirety.
The “Big Bang” occurred at 00:01 a.m. precisely on July 1, 2011: All subscribers to the newsletter received photos of the new Actros via SMS on their mobile phones. At the same time, access to the Microsite was activated, offering comprehensive information on the new flagship of Mercedes-Benz Trucks with 30 video tutorials, CGI-based 3D animations, 360º round flights and X-ray images as well as interactive detailed descriptions on the new Actros and numerous downloads.
Apart from managing the entire marketing communications for Mercedes-Benz Trucks Europe on the Internet, PRH also realises the customer magazines “ROUTE” and “Mercedes-Benz Transport” which are published in several countries.
